Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications):

Education & Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) plus two (2) years of experience working in a medical office, credentialing department, or human resources

OR

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required
  • Experience with CAQH, NPDB, and NPPES databases a plus

License or Certification:

  • Valid California Driver’s License

They often work with databases like CAQH, NPDB, and NPPES, and are responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. In essence, a Credentialing Specialist protects patient safety and maintains the integrity of healthcare organizations by thoroughly vetting and managing the credentials of medical providers.

Division/Program Overview:

The Credentialing Specialist manages all credentialing processes for medical staff, ensuring compliance with internal policies, community care licensing, Medi-Cal requirements, and Joint Commission standards. This role includes creating and maintaining contracts, verifying licenses and credentials, scheduling peer reviews, generating reports, and coordinating EMR training for new providers. Effective collaboration with EMR, HR, and Operations departments is essential, and some company travel may be required.
