Provide compliance with local, state and federal permits and regulations through chemical testing and analysis of wastewater/storm water discharges, potable water supplies, ground water remediation, and other systems/operations at Red River Army Depot (RRAD).
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Conduct chemical laboratory and field tests according to prescribed standards to determine characteristics or composition of a variety of water systems at RRAD.
2. Conduct tests in accordance with Standard Methods for the Examination of Waste and Wastewater and Wastewater Treatment Plan O&M Manual.
3. Ensure RRAD meets established standards of local, state and federal permits.
4. Prepare sample for testing, record data, and prepare summaries and charts for review.
5. Attend meetings involving the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), or any other regulatory agency pertaining to water supply, wastewater, or storm water system in order to provide information reports etc., as requested by the Government.
6. Ensure accurate reporting as required by regulatory agencies and additional reporting requirements established by the Government.
7. Assist when necessary with the creating and inputting of information into the report database.
8. Respond, both verbally and written, to Government inquiries in order to communicate effectively with the customer.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Work is performed in a variety of settings including an office environment, laboratory and outside with occasional exposure to Hazmat materials in proper containers. Occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, engineering, chemistry, biology or other science and five years of position-related experience.
Good written communications and organizational skills.
Thorough understanding of local, state and national standards and permits.
Excellent analytical skills; Working knowledge of software applications.
Ability to perform detail-oriented work under limited supervision.
Passing a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check (NAC) within 60 days of hire if required and have a valid driver's license.
Must be available for any shift. Willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
