Job Description Summary

Position Objective:

The Parts Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the parts department. In addition, the Parts Manager oversees activities throughout the branch as part of the store management team. The Parts Manager will be responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the parts department. This role makes process improvement recommendations with respect to the best interest of the parts department.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assigns daily tasks to department employees
  • Assists with all parts department functions as needed, including assisting customers or technicians with acquiring parts, answering department phone calls, shipping, and receiving
  • Prepares staff work schedules to ensure the department is staffed at all times
  • Monitors inventory levels of parts on hand and adjusts items and quantities stocked as demand changes
  • Reviews automatically generated parts orders and orders parts
  • Returns parts to manufacturers
  • Investigates and resolves discrepancies in parts inventory
  • Looks up pricing and availability of parts requested by other departments
  • Reviews financial reports and takes corrective action if goals are not being met
  • Supervises parts department employees, including interviewing candidates, training, evaluating performance, and communicating department and company information
  • Participates in Saturday parts counter rotation schedule

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience leading a parts or service department
  • Friendly, positive attitude, a sense of urgency, and the ability to multi-task and solve problems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, basic math skills, customer service skills and sales skills
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills, including conflict resolution
  • Computer/data entry skills (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Good working knowledge of inventory control functions
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Knowledge of construction/agriculture parts preferred

Base Pay Range: $22.29 - 32.70
