Circ's flexible technology is powering the clean closet and helping the fashion industry make monumental strides toward a truly circular eco-economy.

We’ve pioneered a technology that can recycle polycotton — what the majority of our clothes are made of — into reusable fibers. In essence: our process takes textile waste and turns it into materials that your most beloved fashion labels can use for tomorrow’s clothes.

Circ is a registered B Corp Company, named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies and a finalist in the Earthshot Prize. We’re unafraid to tackle the hardest challenges and we set ambitious goals that ensure our hard work will make the maximum impact.

As the Director of Commercial Strategy - Brands at Circ, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the sales strategy for retail and brand partnerships. Working closely with the VP of Commercial Strategy, you will help build a structured, sustainable approach to growth. This role is focused on cultivating strong relationships with fashion brands and retailers to drive the growth and scaling of Circ's business through the sale of Circ Polyester and Circ Lyocell. The ideal candidate will have established connections with key players in the fashion and performance industries, be a strategic thinker capable of building processes from the ground up, contribute to long-term commercial strategies, and establish a prominent presence in the global fashion industry.

Location Flexible. Heavy Travel Required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the VP of Commercial Strategy to design and implement a structured sales approach that supports the adoption of Circ products, including lyocell staple/filament and polyester staple/filament.
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with key brands, retailers, and their strategic suppliers, becoming a trusted partner in supporting their innovation and sustainability goals.
  • Work closely with our Business Development and Product teams to:
  • Support product development and launches.
  • Provide feedback and align on solutions that meet client needs and market demands.
  • Leverage your existing industry network to identify and build strategic partnerships with brands and retailers.
  • Represent Circ at industry events and conferences as needed.
  • Drive structural and process improvements, including identifying tools, resources, and systems to optimize sales performance.
  • Travel as required to facilitate relationship-building and oversee strategic projects.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working with brands or retailers in sourcing, innovation, or product development, or experience consulting for major brands/retailers.
  • Experience with a sports/performance brand and/or a luxury brand is a plus.
  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Material Science, or Material Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the use and application of man-made cellulosic and polyester fibers across various product categories.
  • Proven ability to build and execute structured processes, manage relationships, and drive innovative solutions. Experience executing legal contracts is a plus.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English; additional fluency in other languages is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to create structure in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
