Job Title: Product Owner
Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park

Business & Team: Business Banking Technology


Impact & contribution:  As a Product Owner, you’ll be accountable for a set of the service domains owned by business banking. You will be responsible for deeply understanding the needs of our end customers and internal consumers, owning the roadmap of the service domains aligning with the crews in Business banking.

Roles & responsibilities

  • The Product Owner is responsible for defining the vision for the product, setting the direction and goals for the development team. Work with engineering teams to build reliable, resilient and future adaptive service domain API / deployable solutions.
  • Managing the product backlog: The Product Owner is responsible for managing the product backlog, prioritizing features and user stories, and ensuring that the development team is working on the most valuable tasks.
  • Use your engineering background to deeply understand the customer need for the platforms targeting internal engineers, or to engage with your crew to understand the feasibility of transformative business capabilities. 
  • Prioritise the crew backlog based on balancing business partner demands and long-term sustainability of your products and services, in order to optimise the overall customer experience, NPS scores, cost reduction and risk profile.   
  • Engage with SRE teams, consuming service owners, the controls and risk communities to incorporate risk management into the platforms and deliver platform resilience. 
  • Manage product delivery expectations and status reporting to technology and business stakeholders. 
  • Be accountable for the risks, costs & benefits of your platforms and services, driving the adoption of reliability and testing practices.
  • Understanding the BIAN service domain, you will help the engineers within your squad to understand which aspects of the solution need variability vs stability.
  • Be self-motivated to keep learning while delivering concrete outcomes for customers. 

Essential skills:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in relevant field
  • Good to have understanding of BIAN
  • Knowledge of Microservices and API
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps.
  • Experience of Application Engineering
  • Tech skills: We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team: 
    • Jira
    • Confluence
    • Knowledge of Cloud Solution Architecture (AWS)

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology or any similar stream
