Product Overview
CAE Civil Flight Services provides a comprehensive suite of digital solutions that help airlines and business aircraft operators efficiently plan operations, deploy personnel, and optimize performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Our ecosystem brings together CAE, Merlot, RB Group, and Airline Operations Portfolio solutions, addressing three major markets: Commercial Aviation, Business Aviation, and Crew Engagement.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor system health and address raised alerts
• Provide on‑call support during scheduled time windows
• Administer MSSQL instances and databases, including backups, maintenance tasks, mirroring, Availability Groups, replication, Failover Clusters, and TDE
• Profile system performance and troubleshoot functional and non‑functional issues
• Deliver high‑quality technical solutions
• Write documentation for database setup, architecture, and implemented changes
• Manage database security
• Support database environment migrations
• Stay current with industry technologies, trends, and best practices
• Apply sound judgment in selecting tools, methods, and techniques to develop solutions

Minimum Qualifications

• This role is a combination of SQL Administration and SQL Development
• Strong T‑SQL skills are mandatory
• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in SQL Server administration
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or above
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2022 or above
• Knowledge and experience in Cloud technologies (AWS RDS is a plus)
• Strong understanding of relational databases, T‑SQL, query execution plans, concurrency issues, and deadlock resolution
• Experience using database monitoring tools (SQL Sentry is a plus)
• Ability to understand complex application workflows
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Experience in performance profiling
• Experience collaborating with global, distributed teams
• Proficient in communicative English

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with desktop applications and database development
• Knowledge of software development processes from requirements definition to production release
• Knowledge of Change Management processes (SNOW)
• Experience with Oracle
• Experience with MongoDB
• Experience writing and debugging advanced PowerShell scripts
• Knowledge of source control systems (e.g., TFS, Git)
