Job Description Summary

The Project Issue Resolution Manager is primarily responsible for driving to closure complex, emergent issues related to construction, licensing, and engineering of new build nuclear reactors. This role will report to the Project Operations Center Director and will work to break down complicated technical issues into action plans and integrate them into project schedules. This role is a member of the Fix It Now (FIN) team and will drive daily rhythms to assure ownership and accountabilty to meet project timelines.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for on-time project delivery and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources
  • Lead customer, internal, and/or supplier project issue resolution meetings
  • Ensure the conformance of project deliverables with contract and project requirements; supports the resolution of technical and quality issues during execution of the work scope
  • Accountable for interfaces with all project management functions within the PMO
  • Recommend and implement improvements in project management processes and procedures
  • Lead the development and deployment of project infrastructure and project tools
  • Identify and communicate project resources demands and coordinate resource supply within a matrix organization, particularly with Engineering
  • Support coordination of activities related to the project; monitor and control progress on project deliverables
  • Ensure that all project operations are carried out in accordance with the applicable procedures and any applicable customer and statutory requirements
  • Coordinate & chair regular project meetings with customer teams, internal team, and/or supplier teams; prepare supporting materials for such project meetings
  • Prepare and organize project correspondence, coordinating response drafts, approving, and issuing final letters consistent with project communication plan; ensures adequate communication to all project stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 10 years of project management or project support experience

  • Minimum of 5 years nuclear operations or manufacturing experience

  • The work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) headquarters in Wilmington, NC. (Relocation assistance provided.)

    This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government

  • 25% travel

Desired Characteristics :

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Master of Business Administration
  • PMP certification
  • Experience working with nuclear EPC projects
  • Experience working on a FIN team for nuclear power plants
  • Experience supporting nuclear power plant outages
  • Experience or familiarity with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR)
  • Scheduling software experience (Project, P3, P6, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the power industry, customer, and competitive environment
  • Demonstrated professional interpersonal and leadership skills, including high level of motivation, integrity, and self-confidence
  • Ability to manage multiple project responsibilities concurrently
  • Extreme attention to detail, follow up, highly organized
  • Demonstrated ability to balance workload under short deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Strong process orientation in approach to work
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Six Sigma Training (BB, DFSS, etc.) (GE Employees only)

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $132,200.00 and $220,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
