The Opportunity

As a Security Intern, you will have an impact on the entire organization by ensuring that our end-to-end stack is secure.  You will be supporting the development and implementation of security solutions. You will be working with other members of the security and architecture teams to manage security solutions to support MassMutual Ascend’s operations. 

Job Responsibilities

As a Security Intern, you will assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of relevant security policies and procedures to protect systems from intentional or unintentional damage. You will accomplish this through the below tasks:

• Assist in the design, implementation, administration and testing of firewalls, software and / or hardware to ensure that proprietary / confidential systems are protected.
• Perform audits to ensure adherence to company architectural guidelines, principles, and standards in all project milestones and deliverables.
• Assists project teams in requirements gathering and review and provide input to update security policies and procedures according to changing security requirements.
• Assists in the research, evaluation, and recommendation of new technologies and techniques and solutions to solve business problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Entering at least 2nd year of higher education pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Familiarity with assessing and explaining security risks
• Familiarity with OWASP top 10
• Familiarity with the Agile methodology
• Analytical and innovative mindset, result and service oriented, eagerness to tackle challenges and adjust to changes

Ideal Qualifications

• Communication and Presentation skills
• Working knowledge of C#
• Knowledge of network communication protocols
• Possess a hacker mindset
