Role summary:
As a Software Engineer III, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable software solutions that meet business and technical requirements. This role involves analyzing complex requirements, coding with adherence to standards, and implementing automated processes within an agile environment. About the team:
The Instore Device Platform team develops and maintains software for point of sale devices across Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Fuel stations. This team manages the entire lifecycle of devices connected to these systems and orchestrates device capabilities to support front-end applications. Working within an agile framework, the team focuses on delivering scalable, reliable, and high-quality solutions. Members collaborate closely to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of device software, contributing to efficient operations and enhanced customer experiences across multiple retail environments.
What you'll do:

• Analyze and translate business and technical requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Develop, configure, and maintain code components adhering to coding standards and security policies.
• Create and execute test cases to ensure software quality and defect resolution.
• Collaborate within Agile teams to deliver features through continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Utilize telemetry and program metrics to assess and improve software reliability and scalability.
• Support selection of appropriate tools, languages, and frameworks to optimize development processes.
• Mentor peers by sharing expertise and promoting best practices in software engineering.

What you'll bring:

• Proven expertise in Agile methodology, including requirement analysis, user story creation, and iteration planning.
• Strong coding skills in languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C, with adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Experience with software design, development frameworks, and platforms including Microsoft Azure and mobile environments.
• Proficiency in test case development, execution, and defect management using tools like Selenium and Jira.
• Ability to implement CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, and telemetry features to enhance software quality and delivery.
• Solid understanding of security, quality, and performance standards in software engineering.
• Effective project management skills to ensure timely delivery aligned with business objectives.
