Job Description:

Business Systems Analysis Specialist

Department Overview:

Residing within Enterprise Protect, the Global Anti-Money Laundering (GAML) Technology team is responsible for the delivery and support of technology solutions for the respective GAML business unit.  Given the ongoing pace of regulatory change and ongoing importance of risk management, this is a fast-growing area within the bank translating into considerable demand and growth within its technology teams.

TD Business Systems Analysis covers a mandate that includes (but isn't limited to) proposing technical systems to accomplish business requirements enterprise wide. These experts build relationships with business partners and other groups of diverse subject matter experts and stakeholders (both internal and external) to:

  • Plan + Elicit + Analyze + Document + Communicate +Manage system requirements.
  • Assess client needs and recommend the right technology.
  • Document Data lineage / mapping and oversee end-to-end traceability; and
  • Offer operational and process-related analysis and support.

Here's some of what you may be asked to perform:

  • Expert in developing effective and efficient solutions by researching/analyzing current state system capabilities and defining technology solutions options / recommendations working closely with key technology partners (e.g., Solution Designers, developers, and Architects)
  • Define, document, and translate business requirements into detailed functional and non-functional requirements in the form of user stories or technical requirements package.
  • Analyze data sources and flows and help identify target state opportunities and/or data gaps that require resolution through road-to-strong related activities.
  • Ability to successfully document data lineage, data mapping and implement end-to-end traceability of data elements and flow.
  • Liaise with testing partners to assist in developing test strategies, test cases, perform testing, and provide user documentation, user training, and post-implementation support.
  • Participate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of peer requirements, solution designs, prototypes, and testing output to ensure they fulfill the requirements.
  • Support collaboration with key stakeholders to determine solutions, assess impact to existing work processes and systems, and how to manage the integration.
  • Provide operational / process related analysis and support to various extents.

Job Requirements:

What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree / technical certificate or equivalent experience, preference on Graduate degree in area of computer science.
  • 10+ years business system analyst experience in teams following Waterfall and/or Agile methodology.
  • Experience / knowledge of FINTRAC (LCTR) Regulatory Reporting an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of Java RESTful API/Microservice, Mainframe, Cloud (Microsoft Azure or AWS), data lake, and Confluence/JIRA technologies a definite asset.
  • Advanced knowledge around data lineage, mapping, and traceability.
  • Sound knowledge of banking systems, AML line of business, and industry standards.   Risk Assessment knowledge an asset.
  • Expert understanding of both Agile and SLDC delivery methodologies.
  • Expert in business process and data mapping.
  • Significant experience acting as a subject matter expert and consultant.
  • Excellent communication skills, including group facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, learn quickly, and guide other team members within the area of expertise.
