C.H. Robinson is looking for a Procurement manager in Germany. The Procurement Manager will coordinate with various teams to support freight services and products, ensuring they meet customer needs. This role involves working alongside a team to liaise with suppliers for procuring rates and space for specific trade lanes. The Procurement Manager will analyze market trends, prepare reports, and participate in customer presentations to help grow the business. Additionally, the Procurement Manager will support procurement activities, including data preparation, rate submission management, system configuration, strategy development, and presenting deliverables.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Strategically manage internal and external customer relationships, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to drive success and innovation
  • Provide strategic support to sales and account management teams to enhance performance
  • Document scope, communications, and expectations with clarity and actionable insights
  • Conduct benchmarking and apply industry best practices to exceed targets
  • Continuously improve methodologies, tools, and processes to stay ahead of trends
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, airlines, and subject matter experts
  • Secure competitive ocean/air freight rates and manage space allocations on key lanes
  • Oversee rate contract management, audits, and RFQ support for regional bids
  • Act as subject matter expert for ocean/air freight products, supporting commercial teams and resolving service issues

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 6 years of previous ocean/air procurement or transportation experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedule on occasion, some night and weekend hours may be required
  • Ability to travel up to 5% (domestically and/or internationally)/Expected travel for 2 events per year

Preferred:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (written, oral, and multilingual)
  • Skilled in documentation and presentations (formal/informal)
  • Experienced in engaging and facilitating meetings with senior leadership (C-, V-, D-level)
  • Change management and quality review experience
  • Strong analytical skills; Six Sigma, CSCP, and process improvement expertise
