Internship Summary: We are actively hiring for a Data Science Intern! This summer, we are looking for motivated individuals looking to begin a career in our Reinsurance & Commercial Insurance team.

CSAA Internship Program: As an intern, you will participate in an 11-week summer internship experience with an emphasis on hands-on learning and real-world immersion into our business. Our interns participate in professional development and job-specific training and plenty of networking opportunities to gain deep understanding of their role and department while also broadening their knowledge of CSAA’s business. We offer an Intern Innovation Challenge, executive meet and greets, community service opportunities, and social bonding activities to help you stay connected.

Internship Details: The anticipated dates of our 2026 summer internship will be May 26-August 7. This role is remote. The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $33.00-36.00.

Essential responsibilities

• Collaborate with our data science team and business leads to pursue research in areas of high business impact.
• Drive CSAA’s knowledge of our customers through research projects from data collection to model development.
• Provide recommendation based on well-documented, reproducible analysis from large datasets.
• Work on a capstone project throughout the summer related to data analysis within the insurance industry and present findings to senior management

Ideal Qualifications

• Current undergraduate/graduate student pursuing a quantitative or analytically focused degree, ideally graduating December 2026 or later
• Interested to begin a career with a focus on data or statistical analysis.
• Familiar with manipulating raw data with Python or R.
• Creative problem solver with a strong interest in machine learning.
• High-energy, high-impact individual who can provide statistical insights with data
• Self-motivated and results-oriented professional with strong written or verbal communication skills.
• Able to influence and effectively manage multiple projects while communicating effectively in front of others
• Enthusiastic to learn new concepts and committed to self-development
• Has a keen analytical mind with a sharp eye for details
• Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the US.
