MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Sr. industrial engineer is focused on developing, analyzing, and modeling operational information for the planning and optimization of resources.  This position contributes to the commercial objectives of the business through methods and systems that assist in the efficient use of operational personnel and workspaces, support the installation and validation of assembly lines, and development of world-class manufacturing metrics and techniques.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Setting-up, calibrating and operating machines and equipment, following production schedules and quality standards, monitoring production processes, and troubleshooting production problems.
  • Control production activities, material flow, and inventory to achieve cost and quality targets and production schedules of the assigned production line(s), ensure compliance of standards.
  • Monitors, the performance and output of the team and re-assigns, production, tasks and inputs to ensure that production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards are met.
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced engineers to help them use production equipment or solve problems.
  • Installation of lines, adjustments and optimization of space and resources in operational (e.g. production) and support areas (e.g. laboratories, warehouse, etc.)
  • Development and administration of capacity plans/standards/CIP for operational (e.g., production) and support areas (e.g., laboratories, warehouse, etc.)
  • Responsible to ensure the correct trained staff to support Operations’ needs. Accountable for the maintenance of the Operations Training Matrix, cross training program and rotations.
  • Selection, purchase, and management of production support accessories
  • Support to the production areas.
  • Continuous improvement projects to reduce costs and increase efficiency in manufacturing lines

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s career : Engineering, in chemical sciences, industrial engineering, mechanical, electronical engineering, automation, robotics, mechatronic engineering / administration or similar careers.

Experience Details:

6+ years experience in:

  • Operational Excellence, lean concepts such as line balancing, constraint theory, process flow map, continuous improvement tools, statistical analysis, strong analytical skills and ability to improve processes and related documentation, layouts, time studies, capacity, balancing.

Other Qualifications and Education

  • Experience in medical devices industry.
  • DMAIC, PDCA,8D´s (preferred)
  • Language proficiency : Advance Commands of English / Required. Fluent oral and writing communication including technical writing.
