Reporting to the Sr. Product Manager, the Associate Product Manager will be responsible for developing new products and improving existing ones for health care providers. Working in an Agile environment, in collaboration with a cross-functional team, this person will be responsible for defining and executing the Product roadmap and ensuring the backlog is properly defined, prioritized, and ready for execution with the Data Products team.  They will lead empowered, high-impact teams, through the digital development of the product, providing strong cross-functional leadership.  They will develop and own business cases and work cross functionally to deliver digital products on-time and on-budget, to advance Insulet’s mission to improve the lives of people with diabetes. 

Responsibilities  

  • Participates in usability studies to explain/interpret voice of the customer
  • Support PM with business case development, including both cost and value 
  • Support PM with to define and gain approval of customer journeys, detailed process flows, solution descriptions, and consolidation of high-level work estimations required for approval and closure  
  • Maintains the conceptual and technical integrity of the Features for the team   
  • Obtain high-level work estimation (t-shirt size) for features from Agile team
  • Prioritizes the feature Backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities  
  • Provides input into timelines/ dates and investigates alternate paths forward on potential timing options 
  • Drives tradeoff evaluations for feature implementation 
  • Defines Program Increment objectives  
  • Ensures consistency of configuration and partners with partner with leads and stakeholders to ensure design and development consistency across all work with the team.
  • Facilitates software selection process to deliver the 'what’ 
  • Serve as 1st escalation point for all Delivery POs in the team. (Questions related to feature refinement, solution options, and/or in sprint tradeoffs.)

Required Skills and Competencies 

  • Experience with diabetes management or insulin pump development is a plus.

Education and Experience 

  • 2+ yrs. experience in a Product Management position  
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience in software products is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience using Agile methodologies, related to Product Owner role. 
  • Knowledge of IT systems development strongly preferred 
  • Familiar with Software Development technologies. 
  • Experience in Medical Device development and/or other highly regulated products. 
  • Passion to continuously improve processes and practices. 
     

Additional Information 

  • The position can be remote, hybrid or in-person at our Acton, MA headquarters. The preferred location is near San Diego, CA or Acton, MA. 
  • Travel is estimated at <25% but will flex depending on business needs.

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,892.00 - $149,837.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
