Specifically, as a PCE Fault Detection engineer, you will develop specific models to predict future process variation and further improve variation detection capabilities with an end goal of efficiency, equipment & product safety, process variation reduction, and yield improvement. You will also be responsible for tool data collection enablement, supervision of consistent data collection within each node of the environment as it relates to each processing platform, and health of the Fault Detection system. You will help identify which equipment sensors to collect from, define data collection plans, configure services for data collection, and test/deploy new logic.

A Process Control Engineer in Micron’s Technology Development team is responsible for developing, driving, and sharing process and equipment control solutions. In this position, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with process engineering, IT, equipment automation, data engineering, and data science teams to develop and deliver high quality control strategies and sophisticated methods of variation prediction, identification, and reduction.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Design and implement solutions to reduce process variation and develop systems that automate or simplify process control tasks
  • Identify process requirements to design and deliver decision logic
  • Write scripts to extract, shape and filter data for analysis to develop predictive and control models
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting/web development languages a plus (e.g. JMP, Python, Java, JS, TS)
  • Extracting data from different databases via SQL and other query languages and apply data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing data techniques
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Organize tasks for maximum efficiency, incorporating department priorities
  • Coordinate and thoughtfully facilitate meetings and project teams
  • Communicate complex analysis in a succinct and impactful manner

You have the following Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Statistical Process Control
  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills to plan, drive and complete projects effectively
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detailed oriented and able to follow sophisticated procedures
  • Identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve overall efficiency
  • Ability to evolve skills via internal and external education opportunities
  • The willingness to travel (maybe required at times)
  • Experience in software testing/verification is a plus
  • General knowledge of semiconductor processes and tools

Education and Experience:

A BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, or an equivalent Micron job standing of Engineer or higher is required.
