Role Purpose:


The Data Scientist will develop, refine, and deploy predictive and prescriptive models to support Corteva’s agricultural solutions across LATAM. This role will partner closely with global data science teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and leverage cutting-edge AI/ML techniques for regional challenges focused on our Seed Production Operations and Supply Chain.

As a Data Scientist your main responsibilities include the following:


Model Development & Refinement - Design, implement, and optimize machine learning models. Apply advanced statistical and AI techniques (e.g., reinforcement learning, deep learning, optimization) to solve complex agronomic and operational problems.
Collaboration - Work with global data science teams to integrate LATAM-specific datasets and insights into global models. Partner with R&D, commercial, and operations teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
Data Engineering & Pipelines – Contribute to create scalable data pipelines for feature extraction and model deployment in cloud environments. Ensure data quality and compliance with Corteva’s governance standards.
Communication & Impact - Present findings and actionable insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
 
To Grow What Matters your main qualifications should include but not limited to:

Education: Bachelor's degree completed. 5+ years’ experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Engineering, or related quantitative fields.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and/or R; experience with ML frameworks. Strong understanding of model development, validation, and deployment. Familiarity with cloud platforms and distributed computing.
Preferred Experience: Reinforcement learning, predictive modeling for agriculture, and handling large-scale biological or operational datasets.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills in multicultural environments. Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Language Skills: English will be your main collaboration language in a daily basis, so it is mandatory; Spanish is a great addition.
