We are excited to announce our opening for a Material Planner Intern on our Global Supply Chain team in our Reston, VA location! This person will be responsible for supporting the material acquisition plans for multiple programs within the Leidos National Security and Digital Modernization sectors. Must have the ability to work with Programs in generating material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish. Individual will be interfacing with Suppliers, Logistics, Receiving, and Strategic Sourcing to ensure program milestones are met.  The most successful candidate will have a desire to be a part of a team, enjoy hard work, and learn on the job from a team of talented professionals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Works with the program team to ensure a streamlined procurement process of materials against program requirements.

• Candidate must have the ability to work with programs in generating material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish.

• Maintains reports and monitors material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.

• Coordinates forecasts, workload, expediting, and acquisition priority with commodity/category team leadership.

• Engages supply chain (supplier to manufacturing) to determine optimal acquisition strategy.

• Complete special projects with multi-functional teams. 

• Manages production and delivery schedules.
   

Basic Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.

• Pursuing a BA degree in Supply Chain / Logistics, Business Admin, Finance, or related field

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under tough time constraints

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Intermediate Excel experience (Pivot Tables, Charts, v-Lookups, Bar Charts)

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 3.0

Pay Range:

Pay Range $38,350.00 - $69,325.00
