Job Description Summary

Responsible for mentoring the Product Service team and providing direct technical support to global GE Vernova customers through three primary workstreams:
1) Resolving customer technical inquiries and mentoring the team through complex engineering response (ER) cases, requiring system knowledge (i.e. gas fuel system, oil system, model based control, etc.).
2) Communicating GE Vernova technical guidance and business risk to customers and internal stakeholders via user conferences, webinars, and written technical documentation.
3) Leading or supporting complex operability root cause analyses (RCA) investigations for high‑impact issues, often in cross‑functional teams.

As a member of the Americas Accessories & Controls Product Service team, you’ll have a unique opportunity to directly support power producers and site technical experts, seeing immediate impact and satisfaction as you help electrify the world.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Apply system knowledge and historical or live time-series data to troubleshoot and resolve various power plant operational issues with Mark V/VI/VIe control systems
  • Provide technical mentorship and methodologies to colleagues in support of resolving various power plant operational issues
  • Own ER technical inquiries and resolve with a sense of urgency and limited direction
  • Identify trending issues and provide countermeasures to protect our customers’ fleet, then communicate to the relevant audience (TILs, PSxBs, ETCs, OnTheGo alerts, etc.)
  • Drive complex RCAs through root cause and corrective action while communicating both internally (field teams, GE Vernova leadership) and externally to end customers
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Product Management, Regional Customer Engineering Centers, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Vendors, and/or Customers to provide sound technical resolution in a timely manner
  • Lead and promote the GE Vernova Way, lean principles, and simplification into day-to-day activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master's degree in Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of direct experience with GE/Alstom accessory and/or plant systems

  • Self-starter and resourceful problem-solver that can navigate the GE Vernova resource databases and organizations to deliver a solution, with urgency
  • Not afraid of being uncomfortable with the specific technical problem and willingness to apply engineering problem-solving methods to resolve the issue, under pressure
  • Ability to communicate at all levels (field engineers, site engineers, plant managers, GE Vernova leadership, etc.)
  • Ability to rapidly change directions for multiple concurrent projects based on emergent business priorities
  • Humble, open, collaborative, and continuously learning
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites to support issue resolutions, when such need arises

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
