The Opportunity

his position works out of our Sylmar, CA location in the Cardiac Rhythm Management division.

As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.

Trainer will be working under minimal supervision, provides training requirements of both direct labor and indirect labor to Supervisors and Managers through LMS and classroom training. The Sr. Trainer participates directly in operator certification activity, assists in the development of training modules, audits assigned processes, and creates and maintains learning audience in LMS. The Sr. Trainer will coordinate learning activity for operations personnel including manufacturing. Work with supervisors, group leads, and managers to assure compliance requirements are met. Assure the continuous improvement and evolution of the training administration process by working with divisional and plant cross-functional teams.

Shift information: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm

What You’ll Work On

  • Oversee and maintain training records management, reporting applications and interface with LMS data. Creating and maintains learning audience in LMS. Complete data entry, maintenance and audit of employee training records. Support Operations Management with administrative duties as assigned. Provides instructional training and assessment/certification support. Also provides training to current or new Production Trainers.

  • Develops production training programs. Conducts classroom training for topics that are external to manufacturing processes.

  • Collaborates with supervisors on what training is needed and required. Schedules the appropriate classroom and prepares the physical set up (e.g., New Hire Orientation, Continuous Improvement training and/or conducting classroom training).

  • Assist in the sourcing, scheduling of outside training vendors and suppliers

  • Assist in delivery of training programs. Print, copy, collate, control and distribute training modules to trainers, group leads, supervisors. Manage revision controlled training materials.

  • Schedule employees for in-house training sessions and New Employee Orientation. Maintain all training records.

  • Develop and maintain communication systems for production trainers, group leaders and supervisors.

  • Coordinate timely follow-up and refresher training to manufacturing personnel to attain/maintain applicable certification/re-certification for successful and uninterrupted production

  • Maintains all training documents and records using designated process and technology.

  • Performs regular process audits of personnel including areas outside of production. Actively involved in generating audit action items and participating in the preventative and corrective action associated with audit findings.

  • Responsible for the development or improvement of training modules (guides and assessments) in conjunction with Training, Quality and Engineering.

  • Reviews and approves all CRs for completeness and correctness of training plans.

  • Remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise, applicable financial requirements and regulatory restrictions, and a general knowledge of the company’s products, markets, policies, and objectives as well as industry trends. Maintains practical knowledge of current and novel instructional technologies by reviewing professional publications, trade journals, remaining active in relevant professional associations/ societies, and by attending conferences/ workshops/seminars.

  • Coordinates purchase request for equipment and services.

  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • High School Diploma / GED OR

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred

  • Minimum 4 years As a training coordinator or administrator, preferable in a manufacturing environment. Must be computer proficient with proven capabilities in Word, Excel, Power Point and Data Base or Learning Management System applications. Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and have good communication skills Prior work supporting a training group is desired.

The base pay for this position is

$16.35 – $32.75/hour
