Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Credit Risk Officer who serves as a senior credit risk leader providing strategic advice to executive management on policies, programs, and strategies with significant impact on the company’s transaction risk appetite and performance. The position leads the resolution of highly complex, risk challenges and delivers scalable, long‑term solutions requiring advanced analytical judgment, innovation, and cross‑functional collaboration. Responsibilities include monitoring strategy quality, portfolio performance, customer behavior, policy and control changes, while driving the continuous evolution of multi‑channel transaction risk strategies in a data‑driven environment.
About this role:
Advise leadership on the development and execution of transaction risk strategies, programs, and policies that shape risk appetite, culture, and business performance across channels including ATM, Mobile Banking, and Branch Network.
Lead the resolution of highly complex, cross‑functional risk challenges, delivering scalable, long‑term solutions that require advanced analytical judgment, innovation, and coordinated execution.
Drive the continuous evolution of multi‑channel transaction risk strategies, leading complex initiatives from concept through implementation, validation, and ongoing performance management with minimal supervision.
Monitor, assess, and report on portfolio performance, customer behavior, and policy trends to support strong risk governance and business outcomes in a data‑driven environment.
Lead major risk management initiatives impacting more than a trillion dollars in transactions, while designing and advancing analytical infrastructure to streamline, automate, and strengthen decisioning.
Evaluate and integrate new data sources, identify emerging risks and trends (including false positives and negatives), and perform targeted ad hoc analyses to inform strategic risk decisions.
Partner with line of business leaders to provide effective risk oversight, resolve issues aligned to strategic priorities, and deliver credible challenge of products, programs, and transaction strategies.
Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders—including Audit, Legal, and external agencies
Mentor and develop analytical talent and manage priorities and resources.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
Extensive experience with advanced analytics, statistical modeling, predictive modeling, and large‑scale data analysis.
Strong proficiency in SAS, SQL, Python, and related data management, reporting, and visualization tools (including Tableau).
Demonstrated experience in model governance, fraud detection, and analytical decisioning for real‑time or operational use cases.
Ability to translate complex data and analysis into clear, actionable insights that influence senior‑level decision making.
Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline and strong attention to detail, accuracy, and data quality.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
