Sr Manager, Business Development (Defense Navy)

Location:  Monsey, New York with expectation of approximately 50% travel to East Coast customer sites and shipyards.  Remote work is acceptable provided you are based in the Northeast or Virginia/Washington area.

Your Challenge:

As a Senior Manager of Business Development for 901D you will support and empower new strategic business leads, pursuits, opportunities, initiatives, partnerships and/or alliances.  You will also oversee market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provide leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementation of strategic business objectives.  Access to our customer base of prime contractors and DoD end users is important.  We are targeting this position to be based in a location that provides quick access to those East Coast primes and end customers.

Your Expertise:

  • Have a working knowledge of DoD programs relating to Navy applications, including working from initial program concept through development and through production.

    • Have access to senior program leads, senior officers, and influencers on DoD naval programs.

    • Have a working network of contacts in the services as well as prime contractors working in shipboard application space.

    • Be comfortable in discussing naval applications with senior program team members, senior officers, and corporate executives.

  • Strong experience in the DoD Navy market including customer relationships with acquisition officers and outstanding relationships with one or more shipyards.

  • Naval Experience (Preferred)

    • E-8 or E-9 USN

    • CWO (Warrant Officer)

    • Shipyard Repair (Engineering Duty Officer)

  • Be self-motivated and comfortable working in a goal-oriented environment.

    • Strong organizational skills, able to effectively deal with multiple meetings, tasks, and deadlines.

    • Have strong communication skills, able to effectively communicate with customers and contacts of all backgrounds and educational levels.  Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

    • Strong capability to formulate capture plans and lead capture efforts for multimillion dollar pursuits.

    • Extensive experience in researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives.

    • Pursuing leads and moving them through the sales cycle.

    • Developing concepts, ideas, quotes and proposals for prospective clients.

    • Attending conferences and industry events.  Represent 901D for the purposes of identifying new opportunities at the Surface Navy Symposium and Sea Air Space shows.

  • US person required, secret security clearance is a plus

Salary Range: $160,000 - $190,000
