Major Responsibilities:
  • Ensures the continued efficient and effective operation of the department.
    •     1)Composes correspondence as necessary. Gathers information for others as requested. Composes protocols, memos, letters, weekly, monthly reports. Photocopies materials as needed or required, maintains confidentiality of such materials. Takes action upon all mail, correspondence received.
    •     2)Coordinates repair of office equipment, copier, fax, computers, etc.
    •     3)Prioritizes short and long term activities and work assignments of practice.
    •     4)Maintains an effective working relationship with other staff, utilizing discretion and a high degree of collaboration. Identifies resolves and/or recommends resolutions to office and/or operations related problems.
    •     5)Maintains inventory and stock levels of office supplies.
    •     6)Ensures the timely completion of work and projects as requested by the Manager.
    •     7)Photocopies materials as needed or required, maintains confidentiality of all such materials.
    •     8)Proficient use of all Microsoft products.
    •     9)Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Manager.
  • Scheduling/Registration
    •     1)Registers patients following all Revenue Cycle guidelines which include but are not limited to: • Verification of demographic information. • Notification of outstanding balances. Discussion with patient regarding payment, hospital payment policies and/or rescheduling of appointment. • Establishes payment plans. • Verification of insurance eligibility, viewing and copying of insurance cards and discussion of hospital policies when applicable. • Collection and recording of all co-payment, self-pay and outstanding balances following Cash Control and Revenue Cycle Policies. Answers incoming telephone calls in a timely manner, delivering excellent telephone customer service skills and adhering to Advocate Medical Group telephone standards and patient service standards.
    •     2)Consistently demonstrates sincere understanding and empathy in interactions with patients.
    •     3)Consistently adheres to Advocate Medical Group service standards and MVP.
  • Other duties as assigned
    •     2)May be used to support other sites.
    •     3)Assist with coordinating physician and staff meetings.
    •     4)Supports centers efforts on patient associate & physician satisfaction.
    •     5)Assist other departments as needed.
    •     1)Assist with patient satisfaction improvement activities.
