The Allegro team is united by a clear purpose—advancing technologies that make the world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to join our Current Sensor product development team. In this role, you will be a critical contributor, providing essential support to engineering activities that drive our innovation in sensor technology. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including component characterization, prototype assembly, and performing detailed electrical and thermal testing.

A key part of this position involves managing our high-voltage isolation test lab, where you will coordinate test requests, perform critical high-voltage testing, and contribute to the final test reports that ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety and performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented technician who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the development of cutting-edge semiconductor products.

What You Will Do

  • Support engineering activities by performing detailed characterization of electronic components.

  • Assemble prototype electro-mechanical systems for new product development and evaluation.

  • Conduct comprehensive electrical and thermal testing on current sensor products to validate performance and reliability.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the high-voltage isolation test lab, including equipment maintenance and calibration schedules.

  • Coordinate the backlog of high-voltage insulation test requests to ensure timely completion.

  • Perform, set up, and monitor high-voltage testing according to established procedures.

  • Analyze test data and contribute to the creation of detailed technical test reports.

  • Troubleshoot simple circuit problems independently to maintain workflow and support engineering objectives.

What You Will Need

  • Associate's degree in Electronics Technology or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proficiency with a variety of electrical test equipment, including digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies.

  • Demonstrated experience with high-voltage test equipment and safety protocols.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and technical documents.

  • Proven ability to perform detailed testing based on written and verbal instructions.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for simple circuits.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the MATLAB environment, specifically the ability to make edits to equipment control software.

  • Experience with simple Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout and design.

  • Experience in a semiconductor or electronics manufacturing environment.
