2026 Undergraduate Summer Intern – Job Posting

Department Title: Undergrad Intern – Franklin Income Investors

Location: The intern candidate must be able to commute into the San Ramon, CA or New York City, NY office each week.

Start Date: All interns must start in office and in person on June 8, 2026.

Anticipated End Date: August 14, 2026 – All interns must be in office and in person on their last day to return equipment. Interns must be located in the same location throughout the duration of their internship and are prohibited from returning laptop/equipment to a different office location or shipping their equipment back.

Position Summary: 

As a firm, Franklin Templeton has been at the forefront of income investing since 1948, when we launched our first multi-asset income fund, Franklin Income Fund.  Today, Franklin Income Investors, a specialist investment manager of Franklin Templeton, manages over $97B in multi-asset income portfolios globally.  Utilizing a flexible, dynamic investment approach, Franklin Income strategies invest across equity, fixed income, and hybrid securities to deliver steady income for clients worldwide.

We are looking for an Intern to join the Franklin Income Investors team based in San Ramon or New York City. This internship provides a unique opportunity to work alongside the team in the commercial success, growth, and retention of client assets for the firm’s flagship Income Strategies suite.

You’ll contribute to meaningful projects that shape how we position and communicate our multi-asset income strategies, including helping develop investment content, conducting market and competitor research, and supporting client and sales requests.

An intern in this department can expect to learn:

• Exposure to the way a global asset manager positions and communicates multi-asset income strategies across channels
• Experience developing clear, engaging investment content using real market and portfolio data
• Insight into market trends, competitor products, fund positioning, and performance drivers that influence product strategy
• Understanding of cross-functional collaboration across investments, sales, product, and  marketing teams
• Practice analyzing holdings, attribution, and market themes to support client and sales inquiries
• Skill in translating complex investment ideas into clear messages for clients and internal stakeholders

Key Responsibilities Can Include:

• Developing investment content for sales and client purposes, including presentations, marketing materials and digital content
• Conducting product comparisons using Morningstar and desktop research
• Providing marketing research and competitor analysis on the Income landscape
• Responding to portfolio inquiries from sales and clients, including requests for market, economic, fund positioning, investment holdings, competitor analysis, and performance attribution
• Answer general investment strategy questions from sales and clients independently or draft answers for review by the team 

• Analyzing FT sales activities and investment flows across regions globally  

Ideal Qualifications:

• Keen interest in developing a career in financial services
• The ability to conduct financial analysis / financial research and analyze data
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of the investment management industry and products
• Experience with digital marketing (preferred) knowledge of social media tools and concepts and the ability to gather market intelligence and produce content.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels, both within the organization and externally

This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 35-37.5 (dependent on state/location) hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $37 - $47(dependent on location and function) USD per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
