RSM is looking for an experienced hands on Data and Analytics Strategy Director with expertise in advising clients in developing the strategic data and analytics roadmap for clients. The ideal candidate must possess a strong background in data architecture, cloud computing, and a deep understanding in emerging digital trends in data, analytics, and AI. As a Data and Analytics Director, you will be responsible for developing go-to-market offerings, lead delivery of rapid assessments, and collaborate across RSM for developing our data and digital narrative. This role requires a unique blend of technical proficiency, sales acumen, and presales experience to drive business growth and deliver innovative data solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the growth of our Data and Analytics business though assessments, strategy, and roadmaps

  • Deliver rapid assessments to create gap analysis for the data and analytics roadmap

  • Work with technical architects and management consultants to develop and deliver strategy engagements

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and industry developments in big data, cloud computing, and assess their potential impact on the organization.

  • Develop and maintain best practices, standards, and guidelines for data management, data governance, and data security in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to identify customer needs, develop solution proposals, and present technical demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define project requirements, objectives, and timelines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of fifteen years of overall experience in IT, with at least ten years of experience in Data and Analytics

  • Previous experience in Data and Analytics with a top tier consulting firm

  • Proven record of developing and delivering data and analytics strategy assessments across multiple clients, and converting strategy recommendations to larger delivery engagements

  • Original publications, panel participation and other publicly available thought leadership

  • Advanced understanding of various data platforms, tools and cloud capabilities available to support data modernization

  • Advanced understanding of dataOps, MLOps and FinOps

  • Experience of leading digital transformation though data, analytics, AI and GenAI

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proven sales record of building a large sales pipeline through technical solutioning for RFPs and proactive client outreach

  • Experience with data governance assessments and delivery

  • Proven record of managing executive relationships with senior client stakeholders and technology partners

  • Ability to travel (~25%) as needed to client sites for sales meetings and project engagements.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a data architect

  • Professional certifications in cloud computing

  • Proven track record on building a consulting practice

  • Strong domain knowledge of any Industry

  • Ability to work from our Manhattan, NY or Chicago, IL office at least twice a week

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS, Engineering or equivalent field.

  • Master’s degree is CS or MBA is preferred.

  • Advanced Data and Cloud Certifications are a plus.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $137,200 - $276,100

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
