Job Summary:

As the Manager, Data Platform you will be responsible for leading a team who oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the organization's data and analytics infrastructure. In this position, you will collaborate with cross functional teams to identify opportunities to leverage data and analytic solutions to address business challenges and achieve strategic initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development (30%)

  • Lead, coach and develop the data platform team through the sharing of specialized data and analytics knowledge, providing ongoing coaching, mentoring and guidance, and assisting others in a collaborative manner to achieve team and individual success
  • Manage the data platform team to identify priorities, oversee workload distribution, tracks progress and overall team performance to ensure completion of deliverables and goals and objectives are met

Data Management (30%)

  • Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of the organization’s data platform which will include connections from the platform to source systems, databases, data warehouses, and data lakes
  • Lead the design and architecture of the organization’s data platform ensuring scalability, reliability and performance to meet current and future business needs
  • Define data models, schemas and architectures that support efficient data storage, processing and retrieval across databases, data warehouses and data lakes
  • Establish procedures and processes for the ongoing maintenance and optimization of the data platform including routine backups, updates and performance tuning

Governance (20%)

  • Contribute to and oversee data governance policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of the organization’s data assets
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data/analytics technology

Stakeholder Management (20%)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and priorities. 
  • Present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, influencing decision making processes

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems etc.
  • 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics and leadership roles
  • Previous experience in a managerial role, overseeing teams and leading strategic initiatives
  • Experience in advising and collaborating with operational leaders in a consultative, influential capacity
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills to drive data-driven strategies
  • Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive BI and analytics strategy aligning with organizational goals.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as SQL, Python or data visualization tools
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI and data warehousing technologies is essential along with analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Proven experience in data management practices, including data architecture, data modeling, data integration and data quality management
  • Good understanding of data engineering principles and experience in designing, building and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes and data warehouses
  • Understanding of data governance principles, regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and compliance standards relevant to Ledcor’s businesses
