Description  

Rex Surgery Center of Wakefield is an ambulatory surgery center in Raleigh, NC. The hospital is part of UNC REX Healthcare, which has expanded its scope by constructing new facilities and providing new services. Today, UNC REX Healthcare encompasses an acute care hospital, emergency care, urgent care centers, wound healing, five wellness centers, and two skilled nursing facilities that concentrate on long-term nursing care and rehabilitation. The facility has treatment centers dedicated to surgical services; women’s care; pain management; sleep disorders; neurology; and cancer, heart, and vascular care.

Requirements 

Responsibilities  

• Pre-anesthesia assessment  
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent  
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient  
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia  
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition  
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed 

Requirements 

• Current license as a registered professional nurse 
• Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education 
• Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
