Compensation
Compensation includes a base salary of $89,400.00 - $134,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
The Cox Automotive Data Marketplace team is hiring a Product Manager II to join our team. In this pivotal role, you’ll spearhead the onboarding of new data sets to the Data Marketplace while also shaping a comprehensive data catalog for our customers. The Data Marketplace Release Train builds valuable services and governance processes that allow users to discover data across the enterprise, share data in a centralized data warehouse, and retrieve the data required to meet business goals and build exciting new products. The Product Manager II will define user stories, prioritize the team backlog, contribute a solid understanding of end users and their needs, and identify future capabilities for the product.
Expect frequent engagement with end users at all organizational levels—business, analysts, data scientists, and technology teams. Your adept organizational and interpersonal skills will ensure seamless communication, keeping consumers informed about timelines, addressing any issues, and ensuring timely delivery.
What You’ll Do
Job Duties
- Lead an operational engineering team to onboard new data offerings onto the Data Marketplace and market the new offerings through our portal.
- Help craft descriptions for new data sets with suppliers and maintain our data catalog to improve the consumer search experience.
- Coordinate with suppliers to sunset discontinued data offerings or migrate consumers to new ones when available.
- Coordinate with data suppliers to set delivery expectations and identify potential risks.
- Own, prioritize, and maintain a working backlog for an operational engineering delivery team.
- Accept and review completed stories with a focus on quality.
- Provide input and conceive ideas for enhancing product performance and shaping product roadmaps.
- Serve as the “voice of the customer” to the delivery team by representing and reinforcing the customer’s perspective throughout the ingestion process.
- Act as the subject-matter expert for the Data Marketplace to external stakeholders and customers.
- Communicate new ingestions through release notes and speak to exciting new data offerings to stakeholders and leadership.
- Communicate status, risks, and requirements to leadership and partner groups.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with consumers and suppliers of data for the Data Marketplace across Cox Automotive.
- Settle disputes between parties effectively and for the best of Cox Automotive; be autonomous and make decisions without oversight when appropriate.
- Communicate Data Marketplace outages with broad impact to consumers and internal stakeholders, providing timely, transparent updates on risks, status, and expected resolution timelines.
- Maintain documented operational processes and standards, ensuring consistency for both our engineering teams, suppliers, and consumers.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a relevant area such as Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or Business Analytics, and 2+ years of experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience (MS/MA and up to 2 yrs experience) OR 6 years of experience
- Experience organizing work and onboarding clients onto a technical product.
- Experience with managing expectations and communicating delivery timelines
- Experience organizing and executing multiple projects at a time.
- Experience working with highly technical teams working on cloud data engineering or within the domain of data or analytics platforms to onboard new clients.
- Experience completing self-directed work, operating effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Ability to handle multiple issues concurrently and effectively navigate high-pressure situations.
- 10%+ time travel requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive experience is a plus.
- Preferred experience working in an agile environment.
- Experience with managing an operational intake queue or backlog of customer requests for data or platform services
- Experience with partnering with engineering teams to deliver data through predefined methodologies and pipelines
- Experience with participating in incident response or “war room” style communications when data services are disrupted
- Passionate about solving data management problems.
