Team Overview:

The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent group within Global Finance, responsible for reviewing and reporting fair value inventory and Rates and Currencies positions consistently across all asset classes.

VCG is organized along business lines and clients of the group include Business Heads, Line Product Control, Market Risk, Model Risk, Compliance, Legal Department, Middle Office, Internal Audit, external audit firms and the regulatory bodies in countries impacted by Citi’s footprint. VCG collaborates closely with its client base to ensure complete understanding of business valuation issues and accurate execution of valuation control policy

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Finance industry trends

  • Contribute to the directional strategy of the Finance function, anticipating the impact to daily work and the business

  • Evaluate and resolve complex issues and select the best action by weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting needs

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made.

What we'll need from you:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience

  • Understands complex valuation concepts; Strong understanding of the valuation of financial instruments

  • Proficient in MS Excel;

  • Ability to comply with all required controls, governance and policies

  • Highly organized with program management skills

  • Experience in implementing/maintaining an effective control framework along with regulatory developments and global account standards that impact financial valuations.

  • Aptitude in discussing the technical aspects of valuations to pose a credible challenge to the business.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and teamwork cooperation across multiple locations and departments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred
