Job Summary:

The Director, Consumer Growth & Commercialization – APAC will lead the strategy, execution, and scaling of consumer growth initiatives across key APAC markets. This role is responsible for driving acquisition, engagement, monetization, and lifetime value by commercializing PayPal’s consumer products and experiences in market-relevant ways.

Operating at the intersection of product, marketing, partnerships, analytics, and regional market teams, this leader will translate global strategies into locally impactful growth plans, while also bringing APAC market insights back into global roadmaps. The role requires strong commercial acumen, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue growth and global market expansion by identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships, channels, and opportunities
  • Lead the negotiation with external partners and engage cross-functional support colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of solutions for large complex partnerships.
  • Develop and execute an overall business strategy to identify and cultivate strategic partnerships, channels, and opportunities to drive revenue growth and global market expansion.
  • Influence the negotiation with external partners, engaging cross-functional support colleagues, to ensure successful delivery of solutions for large complex partnerships.
  • Align product and business levers (such as pricing and FX) to maximize revenue and market expansion opportunities.
  • Engage closely with product, engineering, and architecture teams to drive the architectural runway and determine the best technical implementation/design.
  • Represent the end customer on an ongoing basis and use this knowledge to drive effective prioritization and decision-making.
  • Collaborate and influence product outcomes in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders such as Engineering, Operations, Risk, Legal, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and Banking Partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:

This role will partner closely with global and regional Consumer leaders to drive growth across APAC markets. The role will also serve as a key leader in the commercialization and scaling of PayPal’s APAC cross-border trade initiatives, driving customer adoption and revenue growth across markets.

Key Responsibilities

Consumer Growth Strategy

  • Define and execute APAC consumer growth strategies to drive acquisition, engagement, frequency, and retention across priority markets.
  • Identify and size growth opportunities across customer segments, use cases, products, and channels.
  • Localize global initiatives and develop market-specific growth plays in partnership with regional teams.
  • Assess market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive trends to inform growth priorities.
  • Represent the needs of the local consumer base and ensure that we meet the consumer with best-in-class products and propositions that are relevant to their market

Commercialization & Go-To-Market

  • Lead commercialization of consumer products and experiences across APAC with clear value propositions and effective go-to-market execution.
  • Act as a key player in the commercialization of APAC cross-border trade, partnering with product, regional markets, and global teams to scale cross-border use cases and unlock incremental growth.
  • Partner with product, marketing, and regional teams to launch and scale new capabilities.
  • Develop and optimize offers, incentives, pricing levers, and value propositions to drive measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure alignment between growth initiatives and broader Consumer and regional business objectives.
  • Accommodate local market nuances when delivering strategic or enterprise initiatives, such as positioning vs competitors.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Orchestrate execution across product, marketing, analytics, finance, legal, and regional teams.
  • Influence without authority in a highly matrixed, global organization.
  • Communicate strategy, progress, and results clearly to senior leaders and partners.

Performance Management & Analytics

  • Establish clear KPIs and success metrics for growth and commercialization initiatives.
  • Use data and insights to monitor performance, identify gaps, and optimize in-market execution.
  • Build business cases and investment recommendations grounded in customer and financial impact.
  • Work with global teams to contribute towards Enterprise KPIs and performance
  • Understand the drivers of commercial numbers in market, to help explain and drive further performance improvements

Market & Customer Focus

  • Represent the voice of the APAC customer in growth and commercialization strategies.
  • Partner with regional teams to prioritize markets and initiatives based on opportunity and readiness.
  • Drive test-and-learn approaches to iterate quickly and scale successful growth models.
  • Build out competitor and market landscape for region

Qualifications & Experience

  • 12–15+ years of experience in consumer growth, commercialization, strategy, or related roles.
  • Proven track record driving growth across multiple markets, preferably within APAC.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills with experience building business cases.
  • Experience leading complex initiatives in a highly matrixed, global organization.
  • Strong partnership with product and marketing teams to bring products to market.
  • Exceptional communication and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or equivalent preferred.
