In this role, you will split time between team management responsibilities and contributing to team projects.

Team management responsibilities:

  • Work with leadership to develop and implement BI strategic outcomes, policies and procedures
  • Design and implement documentation processes
  • Work with BI team members to set project priorities and deliverable timelines
  • Collaborate with IT and Software managers on project coordination
  • Evaluate BI tool effectiveness across company departments, and recommend alternative solutions when necessary
  • Day-to-day personnel management of the Business Intelligence team members, including hiring new employees when needed
  • Personal development and continuing education encouraged and supported

Team contribution responsibilities:

  • Use T-SQL to access, build, and update tables, views, stored procedures, etc.
  • Ingest data from various internal systems, track key performance indicators, and build custom dashboards and repeatable analyses
  • Own the creation and enhancement of reporting tools for stakeholder use
  • Simplify time-intensive and error-prone processes through the development of programmatic solutions
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain business solutions
  • Develop tools to support end user's needs using MS SQL Suite, TIBCO Webfocus, AS400, SQL Viewpoint, or researching options not currently used internally

Success in this role will be defined by:

  • Strong technical accomplishments in SQL and data analysis skills using other tools
  • Providing user-friendly and effective reporting tools to end users using TIBCO Webfocus
  • Managing multiple complex projects in a methodical and structured way
  • Effective strategy implementation following BI best practices
  • Strong communication with teammates
  • Turn business questions into data solutions optimized for reporting
  • Demonstrating solution-oriented and motivated attitude

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of T-SQL query writing experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a business intelligence role using MS SQL suite of products, including but not limited to SSMS, SSIS
  • 5+ years of experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, Webfocus, etc.)
  • Eager self-starter  
  • Great communicator
  • Excellent Google skills/able to troubleshoot technical errors and setbacks
  • Strong focus on stakeholder satisfaction and confidence to work with stakeholders of any level
  • Able to work across teams to accomplish goals
  • Dedication to the quality and ownership of your work products
  • Past management or team leadership experience a plus
  • TIBCO Webfocus experience is a plus
