Position Overview

The Shift Supervisor, Raymond J. Bourque Arena in the Athletics Department reporting to the Director, Ice Arena Operations, is responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the Raymond J. Bourque Arena; promote a safe environment for the College and the ice arena patrons; perform other duties as assigned by arena management to meet the needs of the department and the College.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform routine ice resurfacing and maintenance

  • Assist with building maintenance and projects, including routine cleaning 

  • Ability to monitor the mechanical systems in the arena.

  • Provide high level customer service to patrons and user groups. 

  • Oversee Endicott College events, High School Hockey games and various other functions in the arena. 

  • Manage, train and motivate student workers. 

  • Cash handling and point of sales knowledge. 

  • Open and close arena when necessary.

  • Assist and supervise customers utilizing the facility when necessary.

  • Open and close arena when necessary.

  • Gameday Manager responsibilities surrounding athletic events including but not limited to:

    • Making sure the arena is ready for play. 

    • Welcoming the opposing team to campus and escorting teams to locker rooms.

    • Supervising student workers at the event. 

    • Assisting the Event Manager with the overall operation of the event

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Community Engagement

  • Be an active participant in the life of the College by attending and supporting key events like Commencement, Homecoming, and other all-hands-on-deck gatherings. Show a spirit of collaboration and community involvement, including volunteering when possible.

Reporting Structure


Reports to the Director of Ice Arena Operations. Works under general supervision.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma, Bachelor Degree preferred

  • Self-motivated, energetic team player able to deal with a fast-paced environment

  • Sound organizational, time-management, and quality customer service skills.

  • Familiarity with hockey and figure skating requirements

  • Flexibility with work schedule- nights, and weekends. 

  • Preferred Qualifications

    • First Aid certificate preferred 

    • Ice industry certifications preferred

In compliance with Massachusetts pay transparency law, the hourly pay range for this position is $18.00 - 24.00 per hour. Endicott College considers factors such as (but not limited to) job responsibilities, relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and external market data when determining pay. The final hourly rate is determined by the Human Resources Office based on these factors. This range reflects base pay only and does not include benefits or other compensation.
