Position Summary:

The Facility Manager at Edge Sports Global (ESG) plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the overall operation, safety, and cleanliness of the arena facility. This position works directly with the Director of Facilities to manage day-to-day tasks, oversee ice and mechanical operations, supervise staff, and ensure a high-quality experience for all guests. The Facility Manager must have a flexible schedule and be available for mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.

Core Responsibilities:

Staff Supervision & Scheduling

  • Coordinate with the Director of Facilities to schedule Zamboni drivers with a two-week look-ahead, ensuring all shifts are covered.

  • Delegate daily and weekly tasks to facility staff and supervise performance.

  • Ensure all facility logs and checklists are completed accurately and maintained.

  • Provide ongoing support and training to staff to uphold ESG standards.

Ice & Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain safe, high-quality ice surfaces through proper resurfacing techniques and timely maintenance.

  • Conduct weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance on facility mechanical systems including:

    • Ice chiller equipment

    • Dehumidifiers

    • Zamboni maintenance

    • Rink boards and glass

  • Report and assist with repair planning for any issues affecting ice quality or facility function.

  • Submit materials and supply lists to the Director of Facilities every Monday for the following week.

Vendor & Contractor Coordination

  • Coordinate with snow plow and landscaping contractors to ensure timely and complete services.

  • Verify and sign off on contractor work once completed.

  • Schedule and oversee on-site vendor or contractor projects and repairs.

  • Assist ESG leadership in evaluating and implementing repairs, improvements, and alterations to the property.

Facility Oversight & Customer Service

  • Ensure the entire building, including all common areas and public spaces, remains clean, organized, and clutter-free.

  • Serve as a visible and approachable presence in the facility, providing excellent customer service to guests, families, and staff.

  • Aid in welcoming visitors, answering questions, and resolving issues professionally.

  • Enforce ESG policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all users.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma required; College degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Experience in an ice arena or sports facility strongly preferred.

  • Background in mechanical or facility maintenance is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent customer service and team leadership skills.

  • Effective problem-solving abilities and a sense of responsibility.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Basic computer skills (email, Google Workspace or Microsoft Office).

Physical Requirements & Work Schedule:

  • Must be able to work in cold environments for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the facility’s needs.

  • Must adhere to ESG’s standards of professional conduct and appearance.
