In your role as Manager, Software Development at Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, you will play a key role in ensuring that our world class software products are solving our client’s needs. As we expand our presence in Nova Scotia, you will build and lead a team of software developers that will help develop our next generation cloud-based oncology-focused medical device software. You will become part of a global leader in cancer care technology as we shape the future of oncology software with cutting-edge solutions that directly impact patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of software developers. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and other development teams to define and execute the software development roadmap.
  • Cloud-Based Innovation: Lead the development of our next-generation cloud-based oncology solutions. Leverage your expertise to create scalable, secure, and efficient software that revolutionizes cancer treatment.
  • Quality: Maintain the highest standards of software quality, reliability, and performance. Implement best practices and methodologies to deliver exceptional products.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and clinical experts to translate requirements into robust software solutions.
  • Technical Excellence: Keep up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards. Promote a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within your team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor a high-performing team.
  • Proven experience in software development including hands-on coding and architecture design.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and agile methodologies.
  • Passion for healthcare and a desire to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Note: This role will require the successful candidate to reside in Nova Scotia.
