Sandvik has an opportunity for an Assembly Worker ll in Alachua, Florida USA (greater Gainesville, FL area).

As the Industrial Assembler II, you will assemble large and heavy parts to complete sub-assemblies and drilling rigs using hand tools, power tools and other specialized equipment. You will be expected to perform a variety of specialized assembly operations including electrical, welding and/or mechanical.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with internal and paperwork, signoffs, and quality inspection.

  • Promote high standards of quality through instruction and by setting a good example for others to follow.

  • Properly care and maintain shop equipment and tools.

  • Check specification sheet to determine required assembly and special options. • Check stock bins for adequate supplies or sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners.

  • Contact Warehouse Supervisor if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins.

  • Check power and hand tools for correct operation. • Assemble components using power and hand tools.

  • Ensure connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies per customer specifications.

  • Possess ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with assistance of Supervisor. • Possess ability to offer leadership and guidance to less experienced employees.

  • Maintain clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies and procedure

  • Demonstrate respect and commitment to the IMS System (Iso 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018) taking accountability for its effectiveness and continued improvements.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Attitude in line with company value.

  • Must possess a strong mechanical, welding, or electrical background.

  • Have knowledge of basic hand tools.

  • Ability to lead and guide by example to peers & others.

  • Willingness to work overtime and shirt work as needed.

  • Possess the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing and office environment. Incumbent must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time. To engage with production operations, the position also requires standing and walking while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required in each area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear.
