    Job Summary

As a Data Modelling Manager, you will lead the design and maintenance of high-performing data models that support a wide variety of business and analytical needs. You will translate complex business requirements into scalable, efficient data structures—ranging from conceptual models for strategic decision-making to physical models optimized for performance. This role will involve close collaboration with data engineering teams, ensuring seamless implementation and ongoing refinement of data models within modern data architectures.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Requirements Analysis & Modeling

    • Work with business stakeholders and data teams to gather requirements and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models
    • Ensure models effectively capture all necessary entities, relationships, and attributes for both structured and unstructured data.

    Model Implementation & Optimization

    • Collaborate with data engineers to integrate models into enterprise data platforms, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability.
    • Proactively address data quality, integrity, and consistency through governance and validation processes.

    Documentation & Metadata Management

    • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and lineage records for each model.
    • Utilize version control best practices to track model evolution, ensuring clear audit trails and easy rollback options.

    Continuous Improvement & Standards

    • Refine existing data models based on feedback, evolving business needs, and emerging industry standards.
    • Promote data modeling best practices across the organization by developing guidelines, frameworks, and training materials.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with data architects, data scientists, and business analysts to align modeling strategies with wider enterprise data architecture.
    • Communicate complex data structures and technical details to non-technical stakeholders, fostering a clear understanding of data-driven initiatives.

    Professional & Technical Skills

    Data Modeling & Database Technologies

    • Strong knowledge of ER modeling, dimensional modeling, and hierarchical data structures.
    • Experience with a variety of database platforms (e.g., relational, NoSQL, columnar) and familiarity with data warehousing concepts.

    Modeling Tools & Version Control

    • Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as ER/Studio, Erwin, or similar.
    • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) to maintain and track changes in model repositories.

    Analytical & Problem-Solving Capabilities

    • Keen attention to detail in identifying and resolving data design challenges.
    • Ability to develop logical solutions that balance technical constraints with business requirements.

    Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
    • Adept at translating technical concepts into actionable insights for diverse audiences, including senior leadership.

    Cloud & Modern Architectural Patterns

    • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and Lakehouse architectures.
    • Understanding of emerging trends in data modeling, including streaming data and real-time analytics.

    Experience

10+ years in data modeling, data architecture, or related roles

    Educational Qualification

    • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
