Job Description - Administers the Customer Master Data process by performing a variety of profile set-up and maintenance activities in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLA).  Troubleshoots Master Data Management application quality issues through interfacing with customers or internal Owens & Minor teams. 

Core Responsibilities -

  • Coordinates and handles incoming customer set-up and maintenance requests from Sales, Customer Service, Accounts Receivables and domestic Distribution Centers. 

  • Performs the initial, new Customer profile set-up (including Department of Defense) in the Master Data Management (MDM) application according to the established Service Level Agreement (SLA).

  • Performs Customer profile maintenance activities (e.g., add Ship-To, add Deliver-To, add Bill-To, activations, deactivations). Coordinates the set-up requirements and maintenance of special accounts (e.g., Pharmacy Licenses, Sales Tax Exemptions) and Orders (e.g., admin hold, product substitutions, minimum order, etc.). Coordinates Pricing/Group Partnership Organization support. Serves as the business Data Steward by ensuring accurate and timely customer data.

  • Compiles and generates customer reports as requested.

  • Understands the data governance practices at Owens & Minor and implements them in daily work.

  • Continuously evaluates and identifies opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the customer’s experience.

  • Supports MDM application development activities by participating in user acceptance testing.

  • Works within a shared-services environment, with matrix reporting lines to CEC leadership and global process leadership.

  • Collaborates directly with client engagement, purchasing support, and finance operations teammates. Other direct interactions may include working with the Accounts Receivable, Pricing, Rebates, Accounts Payable, Master Data, and Invoicing groups.

Qualifying Experience -

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Broad training equal to two years of college preferred.

  • Three or more years of experience with Accounting, Accounts Receivables, Credit or other related disciplinary area required.

  • Familiarity with credit hierarchy and ordering business processes

  • General familiarity with Master Data Management Customer Master File systems

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Excel and Word

  • Ability to multi-task complex customer set-up and maintenance activities

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet designated Service Level Agreements

  • Ability to demonstrate process-orientation and the ability to pay strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently, or in peer groups working towards a single goal.

  • Solid customer service skills

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a high degree of self-motivation

  • Strong communications skills, able to communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Customer-focused and service-oriented

  • Aptitude for seeking creative solutions to multi-faceted data problems.

  • May be required to work alternative shifts or extended hours on occasion.
