Chief of Staff 

Location: Hybrid work environment requires being in our Downtown Toronto office 2-3 days per week.  

   

Position Summary 

Andromeda Software is seeking a Chief of Staff to report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This pivotal role will collaborate closely with all department leads including Sales, Marketing, Product, Development, Professional Services, and Finance to identify business opportunities, execute strategic product roadmaps and drive organic growth initiatives. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain a deep understanding of our best practice framework for investing in and operating Vertical Market Software businesses. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

You will help support the management and growth of businesses within the portfolio, as well as integrations of new acquisitions. Duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Strategic Initiatives and Special Projects: Lead value-added initiatives and special projects, providing insight into the performance of each business.  Identify opportunities for improvement or best practice sharing with other Perseus businesses.  

  • Financial Analysis & Performance: Complete financial modelling and prepare analysis for presentations.  Draw insights from analysis to recommend possible operational improvements.  Work with cross-functional finance resources to participate in quarterly business reviews and improve financial and operational performance metrics.  

  • Mergers & Acquisition Support: Support M&A activities, including evaluating contracts and conducting financial and operational analysis.  You will gain exposure to the entire software acquisition cycle, including evaluation of opportunities, financial modelling, and due diligence.  

  • Operational Support: Partner with the Portfolio Manager and cross-functional teams to review monthly and quarterly business performance.  Assist in developing and implementing effective action plans to track and assess the performance of approved initiatives.  

 

Education and Experience: 

  •  7+ years  of work experience at a tier-one management consulting firm, private equity, principal investment shop, or investment bank. 

  •  An Undergraduate Degree in Business with strong academic performance is required. An MBA or CPA is considered an asset but not required. 

  • Ability to establish credibility with senior business leaders. 

  • Experience in executing change management and business transformation initiatives. 

  • Proven research and analytical skills. 

  • Highly competent in Excel with financial modelling experience. 

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and limited oversight; able to proactively identify opportunities to leverage skill set.  

  •   Able to work independently while seeking out guidance and learning/development opportunities from colleagues. 

  • Desire to build a long-term career path at Andromeda Software/Constellation Software 

 

Travel requirement: Moderate travel, primarily within North America. Ad hoc travel for M&A activities.
