Location: Open to Portland, ME or Boston, MA

Overview:

Provide support and counsel on external communications strategy to regional leaders and key stakeholders across the company. Develop and implement communications programs and initiatives for bank-related products, services, activities, decisions, policies, and personnel across New England Region.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as content manager for bank social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube), including but not limited to the following responsibilities: recommend strategy, develop, schedule, and post content, edit photos and graphics, manage key vendor relationships (external public relations agencies, technology service providers, and tactical vendors), coordinate with internal compliance and marketing department
  • Manage, track, and analyze company media coverage, including daily and quarterly reporting of key media activity and share of voice
  • Produce external bank communications, including press releases, talking points, speeches, community news and thought leadership articles, social media content, and newsroom content
  • Anticipate and respond to media inquiries and issues
  • Develop trusted and reliable contacts inside the organization and with key media, community, and government partners
  • Coordinate with marketing and Charitable departments to plan and execute media events, including press conferences, major community sponsorship programs, and local ceremonies like ribbon cuttings and toy drives
  • Provide advice, counsel, and support to other regions and departments in the bank for the above-outlined activities

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's Degree

4 years relevant experience, with minimum 2 years PR experience

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $71,985.72 - $119,976.20 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
