Job Description Summary

The Global Testing Engineer Leader is a critical leadership position responsible for the global oversight of test execution and troubleshooting for the Aero Alliance gas turbine fleet. You will lead a cross-functional team of test engineers located in Houston, Italy, Norway, and in Malaysia. Your primary objective is to drive global standardization, operational excellence, and technical rigor across all test cell facilities.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Leadership & Team Development:
    • Directly hire, lead, hire, mentor and coach a distributed team of test engineers across four global regions.
    • Foster a culture of mentorship and continuous professional development, ensuring all team members are highly skilled in current testing methodologies.
    • Define clear performance goals and provide ongoing coaching to maximize individual and team impact.
  • Standardization of Testing Processes:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain a unified global standard for test acceptance critera across all Aero Alliance test cells, linked to the specific overhaul scope of the gas turbine.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain a unified global standard for test execution (commissioning, pre-checks, start-up, mapping, test sequence) across all Aero Alliance test cells.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain a unified global standard for test troubleshooting (including vibrations, emissions, performances, auxiliaries) across all Aero Alliance test cells.
    • Ensure consistent adherence to safety, quality, and environmental protocols in all regions.
    • Drive the harmonization of data acquisition and reporting processes to ensure seamless cross-site knowledge sharing.
  • Technical Excellence & Troubleshooting:
    • Serve as the primary technical point of escalation for complex troubleshooting involving the LM2500, LM6000, LM9000, and LMS100 product lines.
    • Drive root-cause analysis (RCA) on testing anomalies and equipment failures to improve First-Pass Yield (FPY) and reduce cycle time.
    • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing engineering, and shop operation teams to resolve fleet-wide technical challenges.
    • Manage site-specific operational requirements while maintaining global alignment with corporate strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical field).
  • Experience: Significant experience in gas turbine testing and operations. Demonstrated experience in a leadership or managerial role is essential.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep technical understanding of Aero Derivative gas turbines (specifically LM2500, LM6000, LM9000, and LMS100).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage, influence, and develop distributed teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Travel: Ability to travel internationally up to 50% to visit global test cell locations as required. Travel percentage will decrease as soon as the testing engineer team autonomy and experience will grow.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a track record of driving change across a global organization.
