Summary:
As MongoDB Configuration & Administration, Provide L1/L2 operational support for MongoDB databases used by enterprise applications. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behavior, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous engagement with system performance and user feedback to maintain service reliability and support business continuity effectively.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for database related incidents, service requests, and user issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve MongoDB issues related to availability, connectivity, performance, capacity, and data access within defined SLAs.
- Participate in on call and shift based support rotations as part of the infrastructure operations model.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and network teams during major incidents and outages
- Identify performance issues such as slow queries, index inefficiencies, or resource constraints and take corrective actions.
- Proactively detect potential issues and raise risks before they impact users or applications.
- Monitor MongoDB instances using enterprise monitoring and alerting tools.
- Support MongoDB patching, version upgrades, and maintenance activities as per infrastructure standards.
- Follow ITIL aligned processes for incident, change, and problem management.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring MongoDB incidents.
- Implement preventive actions to reduce repeat operational issues.
- Maintain accurate incident records and operational metrics for reporting.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in MongoDB Administration.
- Secondary Skills: Cloud Fundamentals (AWS) , DB Monitoring Tools, Unix/Linux, Shell scripting , Cloud Migration experience.
- Experience in database performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and security management related to MongoDB.
- Strong understanding of database architecture and data modeling principles.
- Ability to monitor database health and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal system performance.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation to streamline database maintenance tasks.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in MongoDB Administration.
- Flexible to work in Shifts during weekday & Weekend during India hours (7 AM - 10 PM IST).
- This position is based at our Mumbai office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
