What you will do:

The Project Manager will provide a single point of contact for multiple facilities for corporate clients. Provide interface between sales, design, and operation to execute installation of projects. This position requires the ability to develop a working understanding of the client’s requirements and meet these needs across multiple facilities. The Project Manager is also the liaison between the corporate client and the company branches for asset support.

How you will do it:

  • Manage the installation of multiple, concurrent automotive and industrial life safety projects at customer sites.
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
  • Monitor the project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.
  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.
  • Use Johnson Controls standard tracking and reporting tools to effectively communicate project progress and financial status to management.
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality.
  • Provide project coordination for day-to-day activities of Field Installation Technicians and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that Johnson Controls team members and subcontractors adhere to safety standards.
  • Review and interpret contract Terms and Conditions.
  • Ensure and coordinate with Branch Managers to control manpower for proper staffing levels.
  • Responsible for financial management of collections, cost control, progress billings, and payables.
  • Responsible for asset management including collections, cost control, progress billings, and payables.
  • Manage material procurement, warehousing, and logistics processes.
  • Ensure subcontractors understand expectations of the project.

What we look for:

  • Five or more years of comprehensive industry experience.
  • Technical and operational knowledge of the Life Safety business.
  • Experience in both new construction and remodels.
  • Two to four years of engineering or trade school training such as an engineering degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • Installation, Service, Engineering, or Commissioning experience related to Fire domain.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong personal computer capabilities in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment.
