About the Location:

FSC is the largest ASC in Maryland. It is the longest active multispecialty, same day surgery center in the Frederick area.

Case Assignments:

The case mix at this locations includes: General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, Vascular, Neurology, Gastroenterology, ENT, Head and Neck, and Pediatrics. The practice model is a care team, supervision model.

Location Facts:

At Frederick Surgery Center there is a strong emphasis on Regional Anesthesia and there is opportunity for a great deal of variety in the cases performed. The site is known for providing excellent pain control despite using very little opiates. The patient and surgeon satisfaction scores are consistently above all national benchmarks! 

Schedule Includes:

  • Monday-Friday scheduled
  • No call, no weekends

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of Activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious ad/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia assessment
  • Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
  • Induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Requirements:

  • M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • ECFMG and FLEX
  • Completion of approved Residency in Anesthesia
  • Currently licensed as a Physician
