Job Summary

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible 24/7/365 for direct supervision of clinical care providers and day-to-day coordination of clinical care for patients assigned to unit. Responsible for supervising staff and the operation and overall flow of the unit. Responsible for coordinating unit schedules and staff assignments, and for participating in performance appraisal process. The Clinical Supervisor performs the functions of assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating patient care specific for the high risk neonate in the NICU. She/he ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the unit's standard of care. Utilizes nursing skills to determine the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, and educational needs of the patient/family/significant other to develop, implement, and revise plan of care. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for meeting the approved Standards of Practice, for managing assigned personnel and unit activities, and for promoting cooperative working relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
 

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement:

BSN required.

Minimum Experience Requirement:

NICU - Three years of clinical RN experience; one year NICU Nursing experience required. Previous management experience is preferred. Excellent customer service skills required.

Minimum License Requirement:

Current RN license in the State of California. BLS required.

NRP required. Annual 1 hour of stroke education required for those working at QVH.

Pay Range:

$55.11 - $84.21
