We are currently seeking an experienced Driver to join our team at our D&W Forwarders Inc. location in Hawkesbury, Ontario.

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL:

  • Inspect loaded truck for accuracy of order, compliance with weight restrictions, and proper securing of load. Verify load for accuracy.
  • Perform DOT-required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Learn about our company products and services.
  • Inspect delivery site and ensure it is a safe environment to unload product to customer.
  • Be compliant with all safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records for submission to the office.
  • Ensure safety of vehicle; report all mechanical problems promptly.
  • Ensure safety and proper performance on company property, job site and in transit
  • Wear proper safety attire.
  • Communicate regularly with office to ensure timely product delivery at job site.
  • Communicate with Dispatcher immediately with any concerns or potential hazards at delivery site.
  • Address property-damage or personal injury occurrences immediately, including calling for medical attention, as needed.
  • Keep the logbook up to date at all times, adhering to regulations.
  • Provide quality service to customers using clear communication skills.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Valid and current AZ Driver’s License.
  • Driver’s License in good standing order.
  • Clean motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Team player with good customer service skills.
  • Ability to read, speak and write the English language.
  • Experience handling building products.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving a Class 8 Truck/Trailer
  • Bilingual with French preferred but not mandatory.
