As an Assembler at Mold Masters in Georgetown, Ontario, you will play a vital role in the production of high-precision Hot Runner Systems that are critical to our customers' success. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail will directly impact product quality, warranty performance, and customer satisfaction. Shift: Weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

  • This is a weekend shift position, working Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a total of 35.5 hours with a shift premium to allow for being paid the equivalent of working 40 hours.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assemble Hot Half Components: Hot-Half Components | Mold Masters eStore

  • Prepare mold plates by cleaning, deburring, inserting plugs, leader pins, bushings, and electrical components, followed by water pressure testing and recording results accurately.

  • Verify that manifold plate thickness and nozzle bore depths meet strict specifications.

  • Assemble hot runner system components, including installing seals, thermocouples, and torquing assemblies to exact standards.

  • Install nozzles within tolerance limits, label zones on wires, and troubleshoot fitting issues through machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling, or grinding.

  • Machine locator pins to size, fit, and install into manifolds, ensuring secure placement.

  • Assemble electrical boxes, install nozzle wires according to electrical drawings, and conduct electrical tests, meticulously recording results.

  • Perform heat and pneumatic tests on the hot runner system, ensuring electrical and hydraulic functions meet quality standards.

  • Complete all machining and assembly tasks within designated timelines to support on-time customer deliveries.

  • Conduct minor preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to keep equipment running smoothly.

  • Communicate any discrepancies or delays promptly to your team leader to ensure issues are resolved quickly.

  • Support your team by providing guidance and training to apprentices when needed.

  • Make suggestions for process improvements that can enhance productivity, quality, or safety.

  • Follow ISO guidelines, Job Instruction Sheets, and Tag Procedures to ensure compliance and safety.

Team:

  • In this role, you will be part of a dedicated manufacturing team focused on assembling and testing complex Hot Runner Systems. You will work collaboratively with skilled trades, quality assurance, and engineering teams to meet high standards of quality and efficiency. Your contributions will help ensure our products meet customer expectations and industry standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Certified General Machinist or Electrician with at least two (2) years of post-apprenticeship experience, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on work.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety policies, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external partners.

  • Mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Ability to multi-task, set up, and work on multiple Hot Half assemblies simultaneously.

  • Proficiency with basic tools, machinery setup, operation, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with high-precision machining, assembly, and testing of complex mechanical systems.

  • Knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and heat testing equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, machinery operation, and working in a climate-controlled environment.
