Position Purpose:

Develops cloud automation routines to streamline operations. Streamlines, and automates operational tasks and processes to protect the organization's cloud infrastructure components against adversaries as well as helps build cloud security systems and solutions. Defines cloud security standards as well as implements and maintains technologies to measure conformance against cloud security standards. Develops cloud reference architectures to identify, support, and configure cloud infrastructure and cloud native security solutions.

  • Evaluates enterprise solutions with respect to adhering to security controls and validates security risks upon mitigation.
  • Validates cloud security standards as per industry best practices.
  • Performs analysis of the current cloud security architecture to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Audits security and operational configurations including system vulnerabilities.
  • Proactively monitors & validates security incoming alerts and vulnerabilities.
  • Creates security documents, design standard operating procedures, report findings, and track them to closure by working with relevant parties and stakeholders.
  • Undertakes initiatives to review and generate recommendations for cloud workload security configurations.
  • This role will evaluate the design and effectiveness of cloud security controls throughout the business cycle and will help identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Leads audits/assessments including assessment plan preparation, review of documentation and evidence, evaluation of procedures, and application team interviews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science).
Requires 4 – 6 years of related experience.

Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.

Technical Skills:

  • One or more of the following skills are desired:
  • Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud Environments
  • Experience with IT Assessments, Audits, and Vulnerability Reports
  • Experience with IT Security Controls for Cloud environments
  • Experience with various SIEM, EDR, and GRC tools such as MS Defender, Tenable Nessus, Prisma, and RSA Archer
  • Experience with Splunk is helpful
  • Infrastructure As A Service (IaaS); Platform as a Service (PaaS); Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Knowledge of Other: Operational knowledge of cloud native and third-party security solutions
  • Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with Automation

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Security – Specialty or Azure Security Engineer Associate or Professional Cloud Security Engineer  preferred
  • CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional preferred

Pay Range: $83,600.00 - $155,000.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
