CACI’s Agile Solution Factory (ASF) is hiring an experienced Systems Engineer with expertise and technical experience, managing high availability Production systems, in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.

CACI is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer who will demonstrate innovative influence for Business Groups and/or projects.  This individual will be responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of systems or products to enhance performance of their specifically assigned program/project.

This individual will be responsible for resolving infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software or system functional specifications. Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage and network connectivity. Provides system administration for assigned infrastructure and establishes and maintains security as it relates to users. Well acquainted with security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment. Supports new infrastructure projects. Maintains all configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure.

Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.  This individual will be expected to regularly employ ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions to solve difficult and moderately complex problems. Problems typically impact multiple departments or specialties. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.

This individual will be expected to achieve operational targets with major impact on the departmental results.  They will contribute to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.).  This candidate may manage large projects or processes that span outside of immediate job area and their work is expected to be performed with minimal oversight.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in the installation, implementation, operation, maintenance and security of Microsoft Windows servers, Linux RedHat servers, and proprietary applications
  • Support Microsoft systems, virtual images and HP hardware
  • Resolve application and system software problems
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware/software enhancements as needed including management of system updates and patches
  • Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues in production
  • Monitor and optimize system performance. Create / develop a variety of scripts
  • Configure security on supported platforms, research security issues / warning notifications for applicability and implementation of patches and fixes
  • Ensure backup procedures are in place and executed on a timely basis
  • Interfacing with service provider to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance
  • Independently work with internal and external stakeholders, including the end user community, for diagnosing system issues
  • Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues in development, test and production environments
  • Performing scheduled and allocated work, providing guidance on modernization initiatives, and resolving problems to meet technical performance and financial objectives


Qualifications:

Required: 

·       Must be a U.S. Citizen, with a minimum, Secret DoD security clearance

·       Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form

·       Minimum 3 Years of Virtualization administration

·       Strong technical background, with a minimum of five (5) solid years of experience providing system administration, production support for Windows Operating systems

·       Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong communication skills and work ethic; self-starter and highly proactive

·       Thorough knowledge of server and system administration principles

·       Experience with DoD STIGs

·       Experience working with High Availability systems

·       DoD experience a plus

·       8570 Compliance (Security + and Technical Certification (Microsoft or VMware)) Required


Desired:

·       College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Information Management Systems or acceptable work experience required

·       Understanding of DoD hardening standards

·       Experience with Group Policy, DNS, and acquiring and implementing DoD generated certificates

·       Strong, active listening skills

·       Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$89,500-$188,000
