Radiation OncologyKey Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct medical physics research for radiation therapy.
Develop models that will allow for next generation radiation therapy treatment planning.
Research the development of clinical applications related to treatment planning.
Develop models to reconstruct tumors; yet avoid organs taking into account healthy structures.
Planning and gathering information from highly specialized experiments.
Collecting and entering data in an organized manner and maintaining data
Analyzing and evaluating data and deriving information from patterns and presenting that data to researchers, physicians, and colleagues
Develop new optimization algorithms for radiation therapy treatment planning.
Researching and gathering tumor motion management to develop new treatment planning techniques and efficiencies.
Adapt to new software, research methods and work schedules quickly.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in medical physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physical Science Current student in a graduate program.
Work Experience: Must have basic knowledge of all physics research techniques.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
