The Opportunity:
The Food Services Worker is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals and ensuring that work areas are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.
What Is In It For You:
• Provides assistance to the Cook in the preparation of meals (as required).
• Promptly reports equipment failures and breakdowns to the Food Services Manager/Supervisor.
• Obtains food and supplies and assists in the receiving, checking, and storing incoming supplies as required.
• Ensures that sufficient supplies are maintained in storeroom.
• Sets up and delivers menu items to designated areas.
• Assists with meal service in the designated dining areas.
• Assists in setting up the dining room for each meal. Cleans up after meals.
• Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
What You Will Need
• Previous food services experience in a long-term care facility, retirement residence or similar environment is preferred.
• Grade 12 Diploma (or equivalent) is preferred.
• Must have completed or be willing to enroll in a food services worker program approved by the Ontario Dietetic Association and the Food Services Supervisors’ Association (or the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management).
• Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
